At Sprout IT we have always loved a challenge and what better choice than the National 3 Peaks Challenge? Short of the resources to climb Mount Everest (one day!) we're rising to the challenge of trekking through the highest mountain in Scotland, England and Wales in one continuous attempt and in less than 24 hours.
The Three Peaks Challenge is one of the ultimate tests of physical endurance, mental stamina and effective teamwork. A real Sprout thing to do!
We'll walk through the physical fatigue as we trek over 25 miles of rough and rocky terrain, whilst battling against unpredictable weather conditions throughout. Ascending a total of almost 3500m, we'll achieve something special that we will remember forever.
We are attempting the challenge in remembrance of two former colleagues.
Phil (Dan) Sheaff joined Sprout as employee number 5. Arriving from New Zealand, Dan was re-named ‘Phil’ (his middle name) as per clerking culture, to avoid name-clash with another ‘Dan’ at Sprout! Remembered as forever wearing headphones and rarely not talking, he brought a real buzz to Sprout – and the whole of London!. Phil passed away suddenly, in his sleep, in October 2010. We still laugh about the time he fell down some stairs, horribly bruising his leg but saving the client monitor he was carrying at the time. A true Sprout!
We are supporting Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome charity SAAD UK.

Max Carlton-Smith joined Sprout in March 2013, from Viglen, and his strong work ethic and vibrant personality made an immediate impact on the business and his colleagues. His Microsoft exam pass, shortly after joining, helped Sprout to achieve its first ever Microsoft Gold Partner accreditation. Max, who tragically passed away in September 2013, is still very fondly remembered at Sprout and his humour is still often a topic of conversation amongst his colleagues.
We are supporting CenterPoint, a charity that gives homeless young people a future.
